Let’s Start a Business! The Insight program entered its third week by students presenting their business ideas for the Pewaukee area. Students needed to analyze the Pewaukee market to determine what type of business is needed for this area. There were many awesome ideas! One of the best parts of the presentations was having one of our mentors, Marc Monreal who is Division Controller at Harken, stop by and provide feedback to students! It’s wonderful how all of our business partners and mentors are so excited about the opportunities students are having through Insight. In AP Economics, students completed a market simulation focusing on pricing. Students also studied supply and demand in more detail and were able to apply the theory in creating their Pewaukee business idea. Seniors continued work on their college essays. We had an admissions representative visit Insight from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, who discussed the college essay and application process in greater detail. On Friday, students were given the task of brainstorming a name for a startup business. Students will be pitching their ideas to the entrepreneur in two weeks! |
