iRun is an AMAZING running program for 5th graders if they like running and going the extra mile! iRun started at Horizon Elementary over seven years ago and is now run by Coach Booker and Coach Laura. The team was open to all 5th graders. They met from 3:45 to 5:00 to practice their running skills along with some fun activities!
Fun Activities and Meets
During the Fall season of iRun we were invited to the ASA Clark Middle School Cross Country Invitational Meet. The cross country meet was going the extra mile for all the iRun girls because the team raced against 6th through 8th-grade girls! Everyone did amazing and pushed through cramps, stomachaches, and foot pain. Our last practice was a celebration, and we ran to the chocolate factory. The season's final event was running The Pumpkin 5k in Oconomowoc, which is 3.2 miles long! For every practice, the team started by writing down positive goals for that practice. The team ended their practice by giving shout-outs to others!
iRun Spring Session
The next iRun season is this Spring 2024. If you want to join the spring session, a printed sign-up sheet will be passed out this April. Hopefully, you will join us in the spring!
