On Wednesday, October 8th, Horizon and PLE hosted the third annual STEAM Night. While planning our first press event, we realized that past reporters shared what happened at STEAM Night, but not WHY we have STEAM Night in the first place.  Follow along as we revisit STEAM Night and why it is important now and in the future.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Science lets you explore and experiment. Technology helps you solve problems. Engineering is all about building. Art sparks creativity, and Math helps you figure out solutions. Many jobs use these skills, and students often discover new talents! STEAM Night is also about having fun with your family and friends.

During STEAM night, we ended up with so many answers on how art relates to STEAM. Some people said that “teamwork and art definitely go together, and that makes a small part of STEAM.” That is an excellent answer because STEAM is so much more than just school. Another guest stated, “Some of the best things come from STEAM, especially inventions and all those include art.” As you can see, art impacts STEAM in many ways.

One of the most important skills people learn during STEAM night is perseverance, which helps them push through and finish complicated tasks. When you do something hard, you need patience, and STEAM night teaches that too. As you can see, STEAM night can help people learn new skills that will benefit them during STEAM night and in the future.
